Overview
Kithu Sevana is a brainchild of the late Rev. Celestine Fernando. The Centre was blessed and declared open by Rt. Rev. Bishop A. J. Gnanapragasam on 25th April 1989. The Centre located adjoining the Cathedral of Christ the Living Saviour in Colombo is an Institute of the Diocese of Colombo (Church of Ceylon).

Facilities
Kithu Sevana provides an amenable atmosphere for the learning community for conducting classes, meetings, seminars, workshops and training programs where Hall, Board Room and Seminar Room facilities are available. The Hall can accommodate up to 200 persons, the Board room up to 40 persons and the Seminar room up to 20 persons. The Centre also provides reasonably priced accommodation in Dormitories and Rooms that can house up to a total of 49 persons at one time. Kithu Sevana provides meals cooked in-house and has a cafeteria that can seat up to 40 persons. A garden is available for recreation and games or for parking up to 15 vehicles.
Services
Kithu Sevana provides a safe and convenient environment and has continuously provided facilities of accommodation and meals for the Youth and Student community. The largest sector of customers is schools from all around the country when they travel to Colombo to participate in sports and other activities. A major impact is also made on the Youth community (particularly from the Northern, Eastern and Central Provinces of the country) when they travel to Colombo for various outreach and vocational training programs. The Diocese of Colombo, Parishes, Public and Private sector organizations and NGO’s also use the amenities.
Management
The Management of Kithu Sevana is vested in a Board appointed by the Bishop of Colombo.
