History
Christ Church was dedicated on 30 April, 1839 by the Lord Bishop of Colombo, Rt. Rev. C.D. Horsley. This Church which includes a school building and residential quarters, is the gift of Mr. A.H.T De Soysa to the Church of Ceylon. The Incumbent of the Kelani Valley pastorate at the time was the Rev. J.R. Horshington.
