The Board of Social Responsibility in partnership with the Gammadda Program and in collaboration with News First - Sirasa TV and Shakthi TV joined hands to conduct a Christmas Program titled ‘Poth Yaathra’ to support vulnerable children in need of educational supplies during the prevailing economic crisis. A majority of children across the country are currently facing major setbacks in pursuing their education as they are unable to access basic educational supplies needed to attend school in the new year, due to the current economic crisis. This has resulted in increased rates of absenteeism as many students are unable to attend school. Through the Christmas Project organized by the BSR in partnership with the Gammadda Program 278 children were supported with essential school supplies in areas such as Kegalle, Kandy, Vavuniya and Matara.

The BSR is grateful to the Anglican schools of the Diocese of Colombo and the Soul Sounds Academy for their generosity in donating educational materials towards this project.
