The Collation and installation of the New Archdeacon of Galle the Ven. Sunil Shantha Gunathillleke and Archdeacon of Nuwara Eliya the Ven. Christopher Balraj was held at the Cathedral of Christ the Living Saviour, Colombo on the 7th of December 2022 at 8.15am. Whilst the Bishop of Colombo the Rt. Revd. Dushantha Rodrigo presided at the service the preacher was the Rt. Revd. Duleep de Chickera.
The two new Archdeacons with their diverse experiences bring in a wealth of knowledge which will help the mission of the Archdeaconries. Whilst Ven. Suni Shantha Gunathilleke has experience working in a wide range of parishes including the outstations, Ven. Christopher Balraj brings with him experience from serving in parishes, at Theological College of Lanka as a lecturer and as Headmaster of STC, Bnadarawela. Please uphold, the two new Archdeacons and their families in prayer.
