Easter Day is the most significant day for all Christians as we celebrate Jesus being raised from the dead. We are Christians because of this great event in history, which stands over and above any other event in the story of our faith.
Last Sunday, the 21st of April 2019, Christians from all denominations flocked to their respective churches to commemorate this great day having journeyed with our Lord during the season of Lent and the Holy week.
A few hours into this day saw the most heinous and barbaric of acts that this island nation of ours has ever experienced. A radicalized and fanatic group, well organized and motivated, massacred over three hundred unsuspecting innocent, children, women and men in three churches as well as in three hotels through a series of coordinated suicide bombings. Several other incidents were reported throughout the island and emergency law was subsequently declared while investigations into these attacks are under way.
